Cruises between Cyprus and Egypt are of a regular standard and are not as luxurious as Caribbean cruise ships, but they all provide adequate facilities.

There is no ferry service between Cyprus and Egypt, so to travel by boat your only option is an ocean liner with the facilities of a cruise ship. Regency Mini Cruises, Louis Cruises and Salamis Cruises all run a service from Cyprus to Egypt.

Louis Cruises

Louis Cruises, based internationally, offer a cruise aboard the Calypso, a ship with a gross tonnage of 11,162 which can hold up to 740 passengers on board. This ship travels from April to August. There are shows in the Festival Lounge and relaxation on the Sun deck. The ship has all the expected conveniences like a beauty salon, fitness center, swimming pool and casino. All cabins have air conditioning with individual thermostat, shower, WC, wash basin, fridges and TVs. Dine formally in the L'Orchidee restaurant or in the ship's bistro. Louis Cruises give what they call ‘Smart Prices’ to their customers meaning their prices are not brochure based so have already been discounted. The Calypso does not currently have an onshore sightseeing trip available.

Regency Travel Cruises

Regency Cruises are based in Cyprus and books travel on the Salamis Filoxenia. The ship can carry 800 people in 255 cabins, all en suite with LCD TVs. There are five lounges, a large casino, Internet cafe, duty free shop, amphitheatric cinema, swimming pool for adults and children, spacious open decks and a kid's playground. Sightseeing trips are available to book on the ship or to book online and are identical to the excursions organised by the Salamis Cruise line below. This ship travels from May to October.

Salamis Cruise Line

Salamis Cruise lines also offer travel aboard the Salamis Filoxenia, it being a part of its fleet. The Salamis Cruise Line has been offering this service for up to fifty years. The ship starts out at Lesemos in Cyprus then travels to Port Said in Egypt. The trip overnight from Lesemos to Port Said takes about sixteen hours. Once docked at Port Said, the optional sightseeing tour includes driving through the desert and contending with Cairo’s traffic to arrive at the Egyptian National Museum and then the Pyramids of Chepren and the Sphinx. A cruise on the Nile is organized with buffet lunch and belly dancing show as the ship moves through the buildings of Cairo.

Three Day Cruise

Salamis also has a three-day combination cruise to Israel and Egypt, which combines visiting Port Said and Haifa, traveling on the Salamis Filoxenia. This will include the Egyptian tour above and also an optional tour to the Holy Land, which includes visiting the Church of the Nativity and Grotto in Bethlehem and in Jerusalem the Golgotha, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Wailing Wall.
